“There’s no wrong way home.”
The movie starts when you realize that you’re sitting inside a hatchback*, wondering how old it is, as you see a writing on the dusty window: Karen was here.
When you’re turning your head, you see a girl, short hair, wearing a yellow t-shirt, and she’s looking at you through the window.
In a rush, she gets into the car you’re in, and you two are sitting so close—that’s how you find a story behind her eyes: sadness, longing, all things come together.
She then takes an old radio beside you. It seems that she’s been looking for this radio since she looks like she’s relieved and moved at the same time.
She hits the button, and the recording is started, and all the old memory plays back in the car.
You’ll see her as a kid, with her dad in the same car.
The dad is playing the guitar; she’s dancing and jumping; they’re singing together. Every day they crisscross the country chasing their dreams becoming a musician.
“I hope you dream. Don’t feel small.”
Later, you’ll see how she, as a little kid, joins her father performing on a sidewalk for tips.
You’ll see how she’s growing up and her dad’s growing old.
You’ll see a conflict between a dad and his teenage daughter.
We won’t tell anything anymore because it’s time for you to watch it. And, please, try not to cry! (Because we failed not to cry.)
